Weekend

On Friday, Manny and I went to Best Buy. We found the most hilarious CD player... Or boombox. I am not sure what they are called these days since they do more than play CDs. For some reason this boombox had a strap. I guess sometimes you just want to walk around listening to music.

On Saturday, we went to Jimmy Changas for lunch. It was pretty good! Their tortillas were the bomb. I definitely need to get their recipe. Of course the best part was the ice cream. They had this amazing chocolate soft serve ice cream. It wasn't the typical soft serve... It tasted like legit chocolate. I made Manny his cone. He still hasn't mastered the art of ice cream cone making. Some day!

Manny said that I should've tried to make the chocolate spiral around. Next time I will. He still needs to experience Jonathan making him an ice cream cone. Hahaha!!I can't wait for that.

Today at school, one of the kids came up to me during recess. He said "Hey remember when I told you about Oscar?" I think Oscar is his lawnmower because a week ago he pointed at the lawnmowers and said "Hey there's two Oscars!" Haha well I told him I remembered Oscar. He said "Oscar has a big saw and if you go near it, it will hurt you and you will go to Heaven." Then he ran off to play. I was telling Manny this story and Manny was trying to figure out how he could've made up that story. I told him that kids usually don't make things up, they repeat what they've heard. Little kids are also super honest. If you want to know if something makes you look fat, ask a two year old. Haha!! A bunch of honest Abe's. For example, one of my kids came up to me saying that someone had pinched her. I called over the supposed culprit. As soon as the kid walks over he says "I didn't pinch her!" I said "I didn't say anything about you pinching her. You just confessed though." Oh goodness. Children!

I got in the mail my items from Highlights magazine. They have this program that if you send home fliers advertising Highlights, then you get items for your classroom. At the beginning of the school year, they gave us two fliers to send home--regular highlights and puzzle highlights. I got my items for the puzzle highlights. I got a desk organizer that Manny is going to use in his man cave AKA our closet.

I also got this cute little counting game! You have to collect the most dog bones. Not sure how I will use this in my classroom. Maybe it will be a reward.

I hope everyone has a blessed evening :-)

Well now to deal with Muñeca... She has thousands of toys, yet still chews on the walls. Literally! And my flip flops. Oh baby teeth, please go away!!!
She drags her leash over, we don't let her use it as a toy. Haha

Have a marvelous rest of your Monday!

Three days

This has been a long, busy week!!! So much has happened and I am ready for Christmas break. I am definitely glad I have Monday off.

After I posted on Tuesday night, poor Manny woke up completely disillusioned. He had no idea what day it was and he thought he was late for work (on Wednesday). Haha! I was laughing so hard.

Wednesday night, Manny and I watched this movie on Netflix called "The Forgotten." It was a really good thriller. The main character has a son who died. Everyone was trying to convince her that she never had a son. Thursday night we watched a movie called "Insomnia." It was about a detective who killed his partner. The whole movie he was investigating a case and the case of him killing his partner was being investigated since he had lied about killing his partner. This was another good thriller movie. Both times I fell asleep right before the end of the movie, so Thursday night Manny sent me to bed at 8:30. He stayed up and played video games.

On Thursday we went to dinner at Madres Mexican Restaurant. Afterwards Manny and I got Ice cream. He made a little baby ice cream cone...
I offered to give him mine, but he didn't want it.

Yesterday one of my kids brought me a box of tissues which is perfect because I am starting to not feel so well. One of the stinky things about working with kids. I also got a sample of a boogie wipe in the mail. It also came with a puff's tissue sample.

Another sample I got was some all natural disinfectant wipes...

Last night we went shopkicking. We stopped at Kirkland's and saw this gorgeous painting:
I want to try painting something like that :-)

We also bought this amazing Gelatto from Kroger. It came in these cute little tubs and Manny said "We can reuse them!" Haha He is starting to think like a teacher.

I was vacuuming and mopping today. Muñeca thought it was a game. She ran away from the vacuum to hide and then ran back out. She enjoyed chasing the mop back and forth. After cleaning, I got some water. I dropped an ice cube in the ground. Muñeca carried it around the house.
I couldn't get a picture of her holding it in her mouth, but oh well. She cracks me up!!! Manny thought she would be a boring dog because she doesn't have another dog to play with. I think she's good.

I hope everyone has a blessed three day weekend :-)

Change

Today I went shopping to buy a birthday present for my mom and oldest sister. My oldest sister told me not to buy her anything because then she'd feel bad about not paying me to babysit. I told her that one day she will babysit my kids for free so she shouldn't feel bad. She said "True, but still..." I couldn't not get her something for her birthday!!!

I went shopping at Walmart and they are having some pretty amazing back to school sales:
Crayola Crayons 24 ct for 50 cents
Spiral Notebooks for 17 cents
Filler Paper 150 sheets for 88 cents
Plastic Prong Folders for 50 cents
Paper folders for 25 cents
Glue sticks for 25 cents
The list goes on...

I bought a few notebooks, but I will probably need to go buy a few of everything on the Kinder school supply list since there are always a few kids who don't bring school supplies.

After dinner, we watched G.I. Joe Retaliation. Manny got it all ready and I walked over to the couch to find this...

A tupperware full of ice cream with two spoons and a box of cookies. I laughed!!

The ice cream is in a tupperware because the tub it was in broke. We didn't realize it was broken which is probably why it was on sale for 99 cents. Psh! A half gallon of butterfinger ice cream for 99 cents!?! Who can say no to that??

G.I. Joe Retaliation was a pretty good movie. *Spoiler Alert* Channing Tatum gets killed off right near the beginning. What I find humorous is that his character's name is Duke which is his character's name in the movie She's the Man.

After the movie, we went to Lowe's because Manny needed a bolt to fix the strut on his truck. I was also looking for something for my next project :-) (Lowe's didn't have what I needed, but Home Depot did. Luckily both places give military discount. I take Manny with me places just to use his discount. HAHA! Totally kidding.)

Ok so I saw this picture and I asked Manny what was wrong with it. He couldn't figure it out...

Which side of the gate is the mom on?? Manny said that is the norm nowadays. Parents don't watch their kids. How sad! This company that makes the gates is encouraging locking your child in a room so the parent can do whatever. Manny said "Those used to be for dogs, now they're for children." Hahahaha!

Alright well insight for the night from Exodus 17... The Israelites were fighting the Amalekites and as long as Moses held his hands up in the air, the Israelites would start winning, but when his arms and staff went down, the Israelites would start losing. This shows that as long as we keep praying, God's power will keep working and flowing through us. But when we stop praying, that's when things get bad because God's power has stopped flowing through us. We've stopped letting Him work through us. People, that is when it gets dangerous and scary. Don't stop praying!!! Let God use you! He wants to :-)

Laughter

I've always been told that you shouldn't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, but I had never been told not to go grocery shopping with your husband...  We were walking around Kroger buying our groceries for the next two weeks and stuff for dinner tonight since my parents are coming over, I needed to get some leave-in treatment for my hair so I tugged Manny's shirt to get his attention. This older man gave me a strange look, but hey, he was following his wife around like a puppy dog so maybe that was a face of "help me!" So I get Manny on the shampoo aisle... While I'm looking for leave-in, he's off farther down the aisle. All of a sudden I hear him yell "Hey! Do you need more underwear?!?" I turn to see an old man giving us a weird look because Manmy was holding this up...
OLD PEOPLE UNDERWEAR!!!!!!!! I guess that's payback for all the times I did the same thing to my mom at Walmart. Hahahahaa!! This isn't the only reason not to take your husband grocery shopping though... We ended up with candy, cookies, and ice cream. I know he works hard for his money, so he's allowed to splurge...Sometimes. I'm definitely a penny pincher, so allowing him to splurge is hard for me. Eeeekkk!!!

So there you have it, don't take your husband grocery shopping. For me, I don't have a choice. I do not push shopping carts! Gross. I refuse to even touch one when it's been wiped with a disinfectant wipe. I don't do shopping cart germs, so Manny pushes the cart. I had a dream last night that I had to push a shopping cart. Manny's response was "That must've been a nightmare!" It was. I will load my arms up and take multiple trips before I'd push the cart.

On a dream side note, I had a dream that my sister had her baby. It was a beautiful baby girl. My oldest sister got to see the baby first, so I asked her what the baby's name was. I thought she was going to say Emma because my sister always liked that name but nope!  They had named the baby Manone (muh-no-knee). Not sure the origin of that name, but we were all excited! The baby had long black hair, brown eyes, and olive skin. So cute! But probably switched at birth... My sister and brother-in-law have blue eyes, light skin, and brown hair.

I have been having some crazy dreams. Not sure what's been going on in my head. Alright well time to wake up my husband so we can fire up the grill! Yay! I love summer :-)
