Halloween

Yesterday for snack, the kids ate bagels. They've had bagels before so some of them said they didn't want one because they didn't like them. One of the boys asked for one then said he didn't like it. I told him he had to eat it and not waste food. A few minutes later he was at the carpet. I figured he had snuck it in the trashcan. A while later I looked under his table, there was bagel all over the floor. I ask him if it was his and he said no. I asked the girl across from him if it was hers and she said she had eaten hers. Oh man! I was not very happy with the boy. What a toot! Lying to me. Not cool.

Today was very crazy, but I got to wear my costume! The kinder teachers each dressed up as one of the seasons. I was summer :-)

For Halloween we rotate all the Kinder classes through our rooms and do crafts with them. In my room, the kids were making pumpkin windsocks. The kids didn't know what it was when I first showed them. One of them said "It's a squid!!" Haha close!

At the end of the day, Kinder hallway looked like we had a party! There was paper everywhere. My room was the biggest mess because my kids ate popcorn on the carpet and smashed it in. Awesome. I felt bad for the custodians. I didn't want to be there when they saw my room.

Other than the craft mess, today was actually really nice for me. I have an aide that works with one of my kids. She drives me crazy because she never actually does her job (she pays her bills and talks on the phone...) and I'm not one to confront people. Today I didn't have to deal with that because she was going room to room with the kid she helps. She probably isn't going to like me after tomorrow because I gave her a schedule of what I expect her to do when the sub is there. Hopefully that works out. We shall see!! I'm excited for our Kinder planning day tomorrow!!

On a random note, when we go to work, we lock Muñeca in the bathroom. Apparently she is a vicious attack dog when we aren't around. She attacked the guy fixing our toilet. But anyways, lately she's been pooping in the bathtub. I'm not sure if I should be mad or impressed! Plus it's easy clean up.

Today in the mail I got a sample of locks. Now I can baby proof my house! Haha
My sister was definitely jealous! Maybe she can borrow them. Haha

I also got a sample of tea and shampoo!

So ready for my extra hour of sleep this weekend!!! Yay :-)

New things

I guess I am overdue for my weekly update. I spent the weekend seeing my new baby niece :-) She is super cute!! We got home Sunday afternoon, in time for work on Monday. Boo! I spent the car ride working on Manny's stocking. I didn't get much work done, I think his stocking will be done for next Christmas.

One of my students, last week, brought in a pile of leaves and put them on my table. I asked him what they were for and he said "They're for you." Just what I always wanted... A pile of leaves!!
Apparently it was in the homework to bring your teacher leaves or pine cones.

I woke up this morning to find the stuffing from Muñeca's bed all over the bedroom floor (and my shoe). What a toot! We need to get her a new bed that she isn't going to be able to tear up.

When I went to Walmart, I saw the craziest thing in the bathroom...
I guess you can strap your kid in, so they don't run away. I always hear parents in the bathroom yelling at their kids to wait for them to finish. Now they can just strap them to the wall!

My week at school was really busy and I am definitely ready for Thanksgiving break. I am on stress overload right now. I need a break or just some sleep would be nice.

And of course, my samples for this week :-) Manny laughs at me for taking pictures of my samples. haha
Apparently I won this sample. I will now be wrinkle free!!

I got this fancy lotion!

If you don't know what this is, just read the directions. Oh wait, you can't. They're in Chinese or something.

Lastly, I got this lotion and some freebies from Sephora for my birthday (mascara and highlighter. I don't even know hoe to use highlighter. I can use a highlighter for a book!)

Alright, well hopefully this week is smoother than last. I am excited to wear my costume for Halloween! Yay!

Another week

I think this week was longer than last week! We had open house on Tuesday which meant a late night. Today was early release, but it didn't make the week feel shorter. We stayed after the kids left for a meeting, then we had a chance to work on our Halloween costumes. When I got home, I found Muñeca in the bathroom surrounded by toilet paper. She seemed very proud of herself for tearing up a whole roll of toilet paper.

I guess it's time to switch to the cheap toilet paper!!

At least toilet paper is cleaner than the diarrhea she had yesterday. Poor baby!! It smelled gnarly. I told Manny that I should've left it so he could smell it. He said he'd been to Afghanistan where you don't know what's poop and what's dirt. He also said that men fertilize their own fields. Haha ok done with the gross part... I had to wash Muñeca's froggy blanket. She came outside with me when I moved it into the dryer. She was looking into the dryer at her blanket like "Hey Froggy, what are you doing in here?" Haha it was cute! She was excited when it was done drying. She kept sniffing it and sniffing it. I guess because it didn't smell like pee or poop anymore. She'll probably christen it soon enough. Haha

While this week has been long and stressful, it's been a good week for samples.
This cute little cookbook :-)

Muñeca peed on our bedspread so I put it into a laundry basket so I can wash it. She tried to convince Manny that she was going to sleep in the laundry basket and not in her box. One morning, I caught her sleeping in it. Manny gets up at 5, let's Muñeca out, and then let's her roam the house. So she does what she wants which usually means she gets into trouble.

Nothing too crazy happened this week at work. Some teachers from another school came to visit our school. I got to see an old friend from Girl Scouts :-) that was fun! Mostly, my week was just tiring. As usual. Haha How many more weeks until Thanksgiving?? I am ready for a break. At least I'll get some rest this weekend.

Now to get over this cold and just watch some tv... Have a wonderful weekend!

Exhaustion

I don't even know where to begin. This week has been very eventful and I know next week will be even crazier. I'm not sure I'm ready for what's about to come my way. I'm going to try not to let the stress overcome me. I just have to breathe!!!

Work this week has been super busy and this coming week is going to be even busier... Is it thanksgiving yet??

Yesterday we practiced our lock down drill. One of my kids told me today that when she went home she asked her mom if they could practice hiding just in case a burglar comes. My student and her mom hid in their bathroom. My student told her mom "You might hear the door knob jiggle but it's ok. It's just the police making sure the door is locked." When she told me this I laughed inside because that's what I told them, but I also thought it was cool how supportive this mom was. She made the lock down important, but also not something to be afraid of.

I never posted about my birthday... On Saturday morning, Manny made me chorizo and eggs. After he cooked, he had me open my presents. There were about a dozen gifts on the table. The first one I opened was an actual gift for me. The next one was something we already had around the house. So this is what I heard "Yay you got a butterfly knife." "Yay you got some toilet paper! I'll wipe my butt on that." "Yay you got some mouthwash." Hahaha what a cheater head! I think only four gifts were actually new things. Haha we went out to dinner with my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and mother-in-law. Plus! My other sister had my niece on my birthday. So boo that my parents weren't able to be here with me, but yay for her! I had a wonderful birthday :-)

I just ate that whole cake!!

One of my kids apparently kept talking to his mom about my birthday. His mom emailed me on Monday to ask when my birthday was. When he came back to school on Tuesday, he brought me a cake. He wanted to bake me one, but his mom said their kitchen was just remodeled and they couldn't find cake pans. Oh well... It was still a cute cake with bonus spongebob stickers on top!!

When Manny got home from work, I showed him the cake. I guess he was super jealous because he dropped my cake!!!

Just kidding! The kid just wasn't on all the way, so when he went to get it out of the fridge, it fell. I had to hold the dog back while he cleaned up chocolate frosting. I'm not going to have another chocolate fiasco.

And most importantly, I will now post pictures of the awesome samples I got this week :-)
Muñeca liked this dog food!!!

Manny took this almost as soon as I got it. He had bad everything so he's always in pain :-/

And another sample for Manny. I like my sugar with a hint of coffee!

I hope everyone had a blessed week. I'm trying to work blogging into my schedule so I can post funny things my kids say. I'll work on it. One step at a time! Have a relaxing weekend. I have to go finish baking bread.

My week

Man it's been a busy week!! We started out week with Muñeca bringing us dinner. She delivers. Haha

Muñeca is always busy doing something! One morning I woke up to her sleeping in her bed, but her bed was no longer in her box. When Manny and I were watching a movie, I guess she was attempting the same thing, but her box got stuck in the bathroom doorway. So she decided just to go to sleep.

This week I received two sample boxes.
More K-cups!!! Manny will drink them... The other day he brewed his coffee but forgot to put a cup under it. Coffee was all over the counter!

My other sample box...
Neither of us have ever gotten heartburn, but we are ready now. Tum tum tum tums!! Manny said he just likes to eat them. I told him that is not good -_-

On Thursday, my wonderful Kindergarten teammates decorated my door. Thursday was early release and the kid's had off Friday which is why they decorated on Thursday.

This was my week in short form. I will post about my birthday tomorrow :-) Time for bed!

Change

I have been slacking on this whole blogging thing, but work has been keeping me busy! Everyday after work, all I want to do is sleep. I was talking to one our wonderful fifth grade teachers. One year she taught Kindergarten. She said that every night she would go home and take a bubble bath. It is definitely exhausting! I have been told that upper elementary is easier. I feel like all grades have their pros and cons. I plan on sticking with Kinder for as long as possible.

Once a month, our counselor takes one class at a time to do a thirty minute lesson with them. After she took my class she said "You have a great class! You must've been praying for your class all summer." I told her that absolutely I was! After the beginning of last year being such a wreck, I definitely didn't want a repeat. This year has been SO much better than last year. I have an amazingly helpful set of parents! The parents are responsible for bringing class snack for two days every two months or so. My counter looks like this...
These parents have gone above and beyond what they were asked to do. I am excited to see how the rest of this year goes. It's been an amazing beginning!

The other day I woke up to find that Muñeca had got her bed out of her cage. She's been working on that for a while. She seemed pretty proud of herself.

Tonight Manny and I were watching this strange movie called "Redemption." I was quite confused most of the movie. In one scene the main character was beating up this guy and stuff marshmallows in his mouth. Well apparently they were marshmallows... It was a bunch of little bags of crack. Never would've known. I relate the things I see, to the things I know. I know marshmallows, not crack. Haha

When we watch movies, I bring Muñeca's frog blanket out, otherwise she will try and get on the couch. She was watching the movie with us and I realized how long she is getting :-(
I told her she can't get bigger. She can get rid of her baby teeth though, for sure!

Now for the exciting stuff!!! Yesterday I got a sample...
My sister got the same sample too. I think that's the first time we have both gotten the same sample. Usually we get totally different things somehow.

Today I got some more freebies from Highlight's magazines. I got two containers that have chalkboards on the front...

I also got some tabs and sticky notes.

It's been a pretty exciting day!! I am ready for bed now. Haha I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I know I will :-)

Weekend

On Friday, Manny and I went to Best Buy. We found the most hilarious CD player... Or boombox. I am not sure what they are called these days since they do more than play CDs. For some reason this boombox had a strap. I guess sometimes you just want to walk around listening to music.

On Saturday, we went to Jimmy Changas for lunch. It was pretty good! Their tortillas were the bomb. I definitely need to get their recipe. Of course the best part was the ice cream. They had this amazing chocolate soft serve ice cream. It wasn't the typical soft serve... It tasted like legit chocolate. I made Manny his cone. He still hasn't mastered the art of ice cream cone making. Some day!

Manny said that I should've tried to make the chocolate spiral around. Next time I will. He still needs to experience Jonathan making him an ice cream cone. Hahaha!!I can't wait for that.

Today at school, one of the kids came up to me during recess. He said "Hey remember when I told you about Oscar?" I think Oscar is his lawnmower because a week ago he pointed at the lawnmowers and said "Hey there's two Oscars!" Haha well I told him I remembered Oscar. He said "Oscar has a big saw and if you go near it, it will hurt you and you will go to Heaven." Then he ran off to play. I was telling Manny this story and Manny was trying to figure out how he could've made up that story. I told him that kids usually don't make things up, they repeat what they've heard. Little kids are also super honest. If you want to know if something makes you look fat, ask a two year old. Haha!! A bunch of honest Abe's. For example, one of my kids came up to me saying that someone had pinched her. I called over the supposed culprit. As soon as the kid walks over he says "I didn't pinch her!" I said "I didn't say anything about you pinching her. You just confessed though." Oh goodness. Children!

I got in the mail my items from Highlights magazine. They have this program that if you send home fliers advertising Highlights, then you get items for your classroom. At the beginning of the school year, they gave us two fliers to send home--regular highlights and puzzle highlights. I got my items for the puzzle highlights. I got a desk organizer that Manny is going to use in his man cave AKA our closet.

I also got this cute little counting game! You have to collect the most dog bones. Not sure how I will use this in my classroom. Maybe it will be a reward.

I hope everyone has a blessed evening :-)

Well now to deal with Muñeca... She has thousands of toys, yet still chews on the walls. Literally! And my flip flops. Oh baby teeth, please go away!!!
She drags her leash over, we don't let her use it as a toy. Haha

Have a marvelous rest of your Monday!
